Cardi B and Offset’s marriage is falling apart, but that’s not the only legal battle the estranged couple are facing. The parents-of-two are currently being sued for $86,000 over damages to a rental property they allegedly caused.

Us Weekly confirms that court documents show Cardi and Offset are being sued by the property owner for breach of contract and negligence. He alleges the pair lived at the residence for 20 months before moving out in October without giving property notice she was leaving.

A Look At All The Mansions Owned By Cardi B

Not only did Cardi and Offset allegedly breach their rental agreement in doing so, but the home owner also claims they stopped paying the utility bills for a period and is seeking financial compensation to cover those costs, too.

When the couple moved out, the plaintiff says he discovered they caused significant damages to the property, including to the floors, rug, and window finishings as well as burn marks to items like the cabinets and tables.

The homeowner says he reached out multiple times with a request for Cardi and Offset to cover the cost of fixing the damages. However, the pair have allegedly refused to communicate.

Only a few weeks ago, Cardi announced she and Offset were no longer together. “I’ve been single for a minute now,” she said in an Instagram Live shared at the beginning of December. “The last time I got on Live … I kind of wanted to tell you guys, but I didn’t know how to tell you. So, I was like, ‘I changed my mind.’”

There have been allegations that Offset cheated on Cardi, which he’s admitted to in the past, but new claims have not been confirmed.

The estranged couple have been on-and-off for years, including the first time happening in December 2018 when a video was leaked showing Offset with other women. Cardi would later file for divorce in 2020, only to withdraw the request in a few months. Now, it appears the rapper intends to move ahead with a divorce once again.

It's been reported that Cardi and Offset don’t have a prenuptial agreement, which could complicate a divorce, considering Cardi’s more significant net worth. The “Bodak Yellow” singer has a reported fortune of $80 million, while Offset is worth $28 million. For now, Offset and Cardi have declined to comment on the new lawsuit against them.
