Celebs are constantly in the limelight, and their fans always expect them to be perfect and infallible whenever they appear in public. But the truth is that famous people are just like us. They breathe in the same air and they have really bad days just like everyone else. In the following article, we single out ten huge stars who’ve had some really embarrassing and even painful episodes on stage. Some of these situations range from bodily functions gone wrong to breasts being exposed for millions to see. John Travolta
Who can forget the totally crazy John Travolta moment of the 2014 Oscar Awards? The producers of the show had the great idea of inviting the 60-yr-old Pulp Fiction actor to introduce the performance of Broadway star Idina Menzel. She was of course slated to sing the hit song “Let It Go” from the movie Frozen. However something really bad happened and Travolta really butchered her name like he had a vendetta against her. He introduced her as the “wickedly talented Adele Dazeem,” and just like that the internet went wild. Travolta certainly needed some buzz in his career, but nothing like what transpired that evening.
Justin Bieber Vomiting
Hey, bad nights happen to even the best of us. Justin Bieber has experienced some tough times in his young career, but nothing quite as embarrassing as what occurred during his 2012 World Tour stop in Glendale, Arizona. The Biebs was working hard and showing off his dance moves during a performance of the song “Out of Town Girl” when the “vomit-gate” incident happened. He turned his back to the crowd, hunched over and puked right there on stage. Ewww. He rushed backstage, composed himself, came back and told the crowd that he was going to “slow things down.” He later explained the stage mishap by saying that he’d drank too much milk before coming on stage that night.
Jennifer Lawrence Tripping at the Oscars
In the last few years, Jennifer Lawrence has really created the aura of being one of the most talented actresses of her generation. She’s a solid double threat. She can bring in the dollars with blockbuster movies like The Hunger Games and X-Men, but she also delivers the goods in smaller, artsy movies as well. In 2013, she won the Oscar for best actress for Silver Linings Playbook and as she was navigating her way to the stage, she tripped and fell on the stairs. Luckily, Hugh Jackman jumped to his feet and was the man on the spot to help her back up. When she got to the podium, the audience gave her a standing ovation, and she brushed it off by saying the following, “You guys are just standing up because you feel bad that I fell – that’s really embarrassing.”
Miguel Jumping and Busting His Ass
In 2013, the R&B singer Miguel was really riding high. His single “Adorn” was topping the charts and many critics were musing that he was the next successor to singer Maxwell’s throne. He was selected to perform at the Billboard Music Awards and it ended up being the most embarrassing performance in his career. While he was singing, he decided to jump over a handful of fans to get from one stage to the next. But alas, he ended up miscalculating the distance and fell down really hard on three unlucky fans. Fortunately no one suffered any overly serious injuries, but it was definitely cringing to watch.
Fergie Peeing On Herself
Everyone knows Fergie as the rambunctious, funky blonde of the Black Eyed Peas. She is also the significant other to handsome Hollywood actor, Josh Duhamel. Fergie tends to get really animated and give a lot of energy in her performances, but one of those live engagements didn’t go down so well. She was performing at a concert in 2005 when her bladder decided to act on its own volition. She peed her pants and the cameras caught the whole incident. She was later quoted as saying: “I had a few drinks before going onstage, but I didn’t think to go to the bathroom. We were jumping around and my bladder just started … you know.”
Drake Falling On Stage
The superstar Canadian rapper Drake is known for creating great songs in the studio, but his fans also love him for delivering great live performances as well. Sometimes though, as most entertainers will tell you, bad things tend to happen, and that was the case during a live performance in 2009. He was performing at the America’s Most Wanted concert in Camden, NJ when he took a really bad fall and couldn’t get back to his feet. He had to be carried off stage and it happened right in the middle of performing his hit song, “Best I Ever Had.” He later sent a tweet saying: “All is well … on the bus laying down … getting surgery this week but I’m walking.”

The 25-yr-old NYC rapper Lil Mama is a feisty and skilled rapper, and there’s still a chance for her to really emerge as one of the hottest stars in Hip-Hop. However in 2009, her volatile emotions got the best of her, and she did something she would end up regretting for quite a while. She was at the MTV VMA’s watching Jay-Z and Alicia Keys perform their hit NYC anthem “Empire State of Mind.” She got so swept up in the moment that she ran on stage at the finale of her song and posed alongside Jay-Z and Alicia. It was an extremely awkward moment and the two mega-stars on stage had the look on their face like “WTF just happened!– why is this girl on stage? She later apologized and has since moved on from the embarrassing episode.
Method Man’s Stage Dive
The Wu-Tang Clan is perhaps the most influential, multi-member rap group to have ever existed. In the late 90’s and early 2000’s, there was no group bigger than them in the Hip-Hop realm. They still have a large legion of fans, but for the most part, their popularity has really dwindled. Method Man is one of the most charismatic members of the crew, and while performing in London in 2008, he had a really embarrassing performance moment. During his concerts, he likes to stage dive to get the crowd going. But when he leapt from the stage, the crowd simply parted to the side like The Red Sea. The rapper took a tough fall, but luckily no serious injuries were incurred. Now that’s a tough break.
Beyoncé Tripping On A Staircase
This is how you can tell that Beyoncé is one of the greatest performers amongst her peers. In 2007, she was performing to a sold out crowd in Orlando, and as usual, she was giving her all and pouring every fiber of her being into the performance. It got to the part of the performance when she was singing the song, “Ring The Alarm” and she was whipping her hair back and forth when she tripped on her trench coat and fell down approximately 12 steps. But what followed was the mark of a true champion; she got right back up and continued on like nothing had happened. She’s a true star.
Janet Jackson & Justin Timberlake Nip-Slip
You can’t talk about embarrassing on-stage moments without mentioning the mother episode of the all: The infamous nipslip incident at the 2004 NFL Super Bowl. You all remember this, don’t you? Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake were performing his hit song “Rock Your Body” during the halftime show when the ridiculous happened. Justin was singing the lyric: “I am going to have you naked by the end of this song” and then he raked his hand down Janet’s bustier which resulted in her nipple being revealed to the millions of people watching. The FCC ended fining CBS for $550K and luckily no nipples have been emancipated during the Super Bowl ever since.
