Mick Jagger has eight children, and they all stand to inherit a huge fortune when the Rolling Stones singer ultimately passes away. But they shouldn’t expect to get anything, should he sell his music catalog, as Mick is considering leaving the profits to charity.
In a recent interview with WSJ Magazine, which was released on Tuesday, September 26th, Mick, 80, discussed the possible sale of his band's music catalog from 1971 onwards. Although he admitted to having no immediate plans to sell off the publishing rights, Mick mentioned that the money wouldn't significantly impact him or his family, explaining why he doesn’t have much stake in it.
“The children don’t need $500 million to live well. Come on,” the singer said.

Furthermore, Mick said that he’s open to leaving his personal fortune to charity and “maybe do some good in the world,” as he explained.
“I don’t actually really like business, you know what I mean?” the vocalist went on. “Some people just love it. I just have to do it. Because if you don’t do it, you get f—ked.”
The Rolling Stones released their first record in 1964 with Not Fade Away/ Little by Little. However, the band’s ownership of their music is limited to their post-1971 catalog due to their former accountant, Allan Klein, who obtained copyrights for the group's earlier discography.
In 1970, when the band severed ties with Klein, they reached an agreement that granted him ownership of the catalog, while Mick Jagger and Keith Richards received ongoing royalties.
Mick Jagger is a father to a big family. He shares a daughter Karis, 52, with Marsha Hunt, and a daughter Jade, 51, with his former wife, Bianca Jagger. His other children include daughters Elizabeth, 39, and Georgia May, 31, as well as sons James, 38, and Gabriel, 25, all from his previous marriage to Jerry Hall.
Additionally, he has a son named Lucas, aged 24, from his relationship with Luciana Gimenez. In December 2016, the musician welcomed his youngest child, a son named Deveraux, with his current girlfriend, Melanie Hamrick.
Mick Jagger’s net worth is reportedly $500 million, but it remains to be seen how much his children will inherit.
Should Mick Jagger sell the Rolling Stones music catalog, he’ll join a growing number of artists selling their publishing rights, including Justin Bieber who sold his catalog for $200 million earlier this year.
