Hersey Hawkins is a former American professional basketball player with an estimated net worth of $23 million.

Hersey Hawkins joined the Westinghouse High School's basketball team. After graduating, he entered the Bradley University's Braves college basketball squad. During his stint for the team, he was named as the National College Player of the Year in 1987-1988 season.

He entered the 1988 NBA Draft and was chosen as the first round, 6th overall pick by the Los Angeles Clippers. Hawkins was immediately traded to the Philadelphia 76ers. During his entire stay with the team, he earned the NBA All-Rookie First Team honors in 1989.

Hawkins was traded to other teams such as Charlotte Hornets, Seattle SuperSonics, and Chicago Bulls. He returned to the Hornets as a free agent in 2000. The following year, he retired from playing basketball in 2001.
