Kelly Brook has started her modeling career at an early age of 16 right after she won a beauty contest. During that time, it was her mother who registered her to be one of the participants. After winning, she has worked on numerous advertising campaigns which include Walker's crisps, Piz Buin, Foster's Lager, Renault Mégane, and Bravissimo. She has always been on the larger side and not the typical skinny type models which soon caught the attention of the media including the eye of editorial team of Daily Star tabloid who made her the featuring Page three girl. After the tabloid’s feature, her picture appearing in numerous magazines including Loaded, GQ and FHM. She also won a pool as the best British female body for the Grazia Magazine.
After winning the pool of FHM as the Sexiest Women in the World in 2005 where about 15 million people vote, she has been consistently listed on FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World. Two years after she was regarded as the sexiest woman alive, she was signed to represent the Unilever's Lynx body spray called Axe in the US and other countries in Europe and the contract is reported to be worth $1.3 million. She then appeared on several billboards, newspapers and more advertising campaigns. With her stint as model, she has started her own line of swimwear called New Look which she has modeled herself.
Finding Success In Her Acting Career
As soon as Brook rose to fame as a model, the television producers have taken notice of her as well. She finally made her full screen debut with a small role in the movie Sorted in 2000. After starring on the said film, she got another role shortly thereafter and appeared in the movie Ripper. She then starred in the American science fiction drama Smallville where she played as Superman’s nemesis Lex Luthor’s girlfriend for four episodes. With her booming career, there is no stopping Brook to reach her dream and she finally had a major role in a movie when she starred as Lyle's girlfriend in The Italian Job in 2003.
After numerous small roles on films and tv series, she finally had a starring role for the film School for Seduction in 2004 where she received numerous positive reviews for her portrayal. Soon, her career started to take off with different movie projects on big screen. Her next leading role was in the remake of the horror comedy film Piranha 3D. The film has received a worldwide success and positive reviews from the critics. It achieved a commercial success of grossing over $84 million worldwide with only $24 million budget for the film.
Building Her Own Business Empire
With Brook’s exposure to numerous business lines in the industry as their model and for doing some advertising campaign, she has thought about starting her own business line. With her exposure and experience in the industry, she has decided to create her own small business empire to put up different business ventures including a perfume line, property investment and a fashion range. It was reported that when she launched her perfume line called Audition in 2007, it earned her a slice of the profits and she reportedly received over $1.3 million from the line on the launch. To this day, her perfume is still available on the market however the last time they launched a new fragrant scent was about eight years ago but her perfume line is still receiving love from the consumers.
