Why do the good girls have a soft spot for the guys we least expect them to fall for? It would make sense for good girls and good boys to have a thing for each other, and the same to apply for the bad boys and the bad girls. It seems as if human beings and magnets have one thing in common: that opposites attract.
However, this does not mean that the dating scene has an equal distribution of these opposites, because the bad boys tend to have significantly more dates when you compare them to the average male. This also means that the nice guys, who fall in the good guys category, hardly have a dating record that any of them can boast about.
This is terrible news for the nice guys, who by now think they need to turn and become bad in order to get the girls of their dreams. However, everything levels out in the end, because, more often than not, both the good girls and the bad girls want to settle down with the nice guys.
It seems as if the bad boys are great, and all the girls love them, but they are not the ideal guys to settle down and build a future with. So if you are a bad boy or a nice guy, you only need to wait for the right time to get the girl.

Whether we want to admit it or not, bad boys are far more confident than the nice guys are, and this works in their favor every time. This means that the bad boys will not take ages to gather the confidence to come up with the right words, waiting for the right moment, or the right season to ask a girl out, they will go ahead and do it.
On the other hand, good girls have a great heart, and it is highly likely that they accommodate anyone with the confidence to approach them. Besides, some of them even wonder why the nice guys do not approach them, thinking that probably they do not meet their standards.
If the nice guys do not do anything to change this terrible trend in the near future, the status quo will persist, and all the hottest girls will always fall for the bad boys.
Good Girls Are Wired To Fall For Bad Boys
The wise quote, "when a lie is repeated often enough, it becomes the truth" has so much truth in it, because people hardly have the confidence to stand up for the truth these days. Children from certain communities and poor backgrounds grow up believing the lie that they cannot become anything in life, which makes them continue in the cycle of hopelessness and mediocrity.
In the same way, society has made everyone believe that the only person who can win over the heart of a good girl is a bad boy, and this is not necessarily the truth. These beautiful girls hardly ever have time for the nice guys, since they never think of them as the meaningful company.
The bitter truth comes to bite the good girls after they have gone through a few terrible relationships and decide to settle for someone they genuinely like, not what society dictates.
Bad Boys Are More Charming
There are some super-charming people out there, and we can all agree that very few of them fall into the nice guy category. These charming bad boys seem to get what they want every time, they make great leaders, and they stand out from every crowd.
What makes them so charming, is it their smiles, winks, smooth talking, fresh humor, or the amazing compliments they give the beautiful women? Whatever it is, it works wonders with the good girls. The nice guys will hardly ever try to charm their way into a beautiful girl's heart, because very few of them know how to.
Since the nice guys will always want to be truthful and decent in their interactions with the ladies, the bad boys would care less about the truth, and end up telling the ladies exactly what they want to hear. If a good girl was to choose between a truthful nice guy and a charming bad boy, she would not even think twice about going for the latter.
Nice Guys Seem As If They Are Pretenders
Since the idiom, "better the devil you know than the devil you don’t" speaks for itself, it is important to understand that this is the view that most women have grown up thinking of men. When most girls, both the good and the bad, are growing up, they are made to believe that all men are bad. With this lie in mind, they hardly expect men to be faithful to them, to honor them, or love them genuinely.
Therefore, when a guy comes around, acting or even claiming to have nothing to do with being "bad", a girl will think that he is pretending and is, therefore, acting as the "devil you don’t know". A good girl has been preparing all her life to deal with a bad boy, so you can imagine her disappointment when the guy who approaches her is one who is nothing like what she was told. The girl will, therefore, avoid a nice guy at all costs, because she does not know what to expect from such an individual.
Bad Boys Seem Manlier
One thing that makes a girl attracted to a man is his manliness, the absolute opposite of what she is. In the early stages of human civilization, the best hunters and strongest warriors would get the best girls, since they were the definition of manliness. In addition, fathers have been teaching their sons that they should never cry, because crying is not manly, a teaching that persists even today.
These days, people hunt using guns, as a sport, and the military consists of men and women of all sizes and abilities, so a lot has changed and the definition of manliness has changed. The bad boys are today's definition of manly, because they are not afraid of doing anything. The nice guys, on the other hand, are emotional and soft, and would barely hurt a fly. Therefore, it is natural for a girl to be attracted to a bad boy and "friend zone" a nice guy.
The Good Girls Need Someone To Make Them Feel Important
The bad boys know that, in order to make women fall in love with them, they have to make them feel important. This applies to all human beings though, since we all want to feel as if someone is constantly thinking of us and is looking forward to spending time with us.
The bad boy will make a girl feel as if she is the only person in the world who matters to him, because he has experience with other women and knows how to pull this off flawlessly. He will praise her every time they are together; he will appreciate her look and the beauty of her smile, and of course bring her chocolate every time they meet.
This might seem like the standard behavior in any relationship and the nice guys know this, but unlike the nice guys, the bad boys will not even wait to be in any form of relationship to start doing this.
Bad Boys Can Spend Ridiculous Amounts On Their Women
Most girls will deny this but we all know that money is one of their most important considerations before they say yes to any man. Many women do not have a problem choosing between fun and exciting guys, whose money can only get them to their next payday, and boring old rich guys, since they will choose the rich guys every time. We cannot judge these women, because they are looking out for their futures the best way they know how.
Although it would be inaccurate to suggest that the bad boys are richer than the nice guys, the truth is that the bad boys can even get into debt, trying to impress a girl. The nice guy is probably thinking that he does not want to make the girl of his dreams think that he's something he's not, and that is the point where he loses her.
The Grass Always Seems Greener On The Other Side
Have you ever found yourself thinking how awesome it would be for you to be driving your neighbor's beautiful car, or living in that other neighbor's house who seems to have everything just right? You must have unless you are Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg, since these guys can literally afford anything they want on the planet.
We are often attracted to things and other people's lifestyles, especially those that seem to be more fun and exciting than ours, not knowing that the people we admire might be secretly admiring us. The good girls usually grow up in houses where their parents uphold strong virtues and principles, the life that we all want to give our children.
Since this girl will probably grow up surrounded by nice guys, she will crave the attention of a bad boy at some point, and try to figure out just how green the grass is on that other side.
The Good Girls Don’t Want To Break The Tradition
Have you ever noticed that peer and social pressure makes us do so many things that we would not have done in the absence of such pressure? For example, women have to dress in a particular way, different from men, and we all adhere to these rules because this is what has been happening since we can remember and there is no good reason to change now.

When it comes to relationship experience, the bad boys make the nice guys look like amateurs. This can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on the girl in question. To the bad boys, the experience they get dating many girls, and even several at a time, is invaluable, because they get to learn so much about pleasing them. Sadly, this is true, and the nice guys will rarely claim otherwise, apart from those who are in denial. What works against nice guys and bores girls to death is when they try to flirt like 12-year-olds, by treating women as if they are fragile china and complaining about how unfair men are towards women.
Women find a man who is willing to go out of his way to sound polite, play fair, or give up his interests to adopt theirs boring in every sense, which is exactly what nice guys think women want. However, a man who has the respect of other men, is busy on his life's mission, is confident, and is famous for breaking many women's hearts fascinates women.
Bad Boys Seem Tougher In Every Way
If you found yourself in an alley and someone in a hat looked at you and started coming in your direction holding something you cannot see clearly, whom would you prefer was by your side, a bad boy or a nice guy?
Obviously, no one would choose the nice guy, because he might actually be the reason both of you will be mugged. However, a bad boy, wearing chains around his neck, tattoos all over his arms, and possibly a gun and a knife under his belt would make you feel so comfortable you'd barely even notice the guy coming your way.
Although not all bad boys fit this description, this is the impression the good girls, and most other people in society, have of them. One of a man's primary roles, concerning the girl in his life, is his ability to protect her; one of the things that most women believe only a bad boy can do.
Good Girls Think They Can Change Them
Another advantage that the bad boy will have over the nice guy with regard to winning the heart of a good girl is in letting her think that she can change him. This innocent girl will look at the bad boy as someone who needs her help to change, and he lets her think that she is the only one with the power to do so.
In such a situation, the good girl will be so committed to the task that she will find herself spending a lot of time with the bad boy, and eventually falling in love with him. This will not surprise the bad boy because he has done this before and he knows deep within that the only one with the power to change him is himself.
Before the good girl realizes what has happened, the bad boy will have accomplished his purpose and moved on to someone else. The nice guy does not need to change much, so the good girl will not find any fascination or task there.
Good Girls Want To Taste A Bit Of Bad
Like Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, human beings have this desire to do the things that they should not do. If you came across two emails in your mailbox, one titled "Do not Open", and the other one, "Please Read This", which one would you want to open first? Chances are that we will think that the latter is an advertisement for some product you do not need, while the former is something you are not supposed to see but you really want to see.
Good girls grow up knowing that bad boys are the forbidden fruit, a label that makes the bad boys seem even more attractive to them than they really are. The fact that the bad boys go against everything they have been taught makes them want to try out their lifestyle even for a night, one that some taste and never want to come out of.

This demand for bad boys began a long time ago, and it seems as if it will continue even in the future. Therefore, you can imagine how difficult it would be for a good girl to go against the pressure to date a bad boy. The situation is made even tougher when she meets a boy who not only knows how to play the role of a bad boy, but seems as if the role was made for him. If the good girl is lucky, she can meet a bad boy who will be good to her, otherwise, she might have to look for a nice guy.
