15 Actresses You Will Never See Bare It All On Screen

For any actress in Hollywood, one of the biggest decisions they may have to make is if they want to bare it all on screen. It seems like most actresses are not against showing off their birthday suit if it suits the role, but for the 15 women below, there has been no role out there good enough to get them to show off their girls.

In fact, several of the women on our list had scenes re-written, used body doubles (...get ready to have some illusions broken - sorry, buddy), or outright refused to be in the movie/television show if the element remained in the plot. There is even one actress on our list who said she'd only appear in the buff if her husband allows it (and no luck yet!).

We dug down direct quotes for every single entry, allowing these women to put it in their own words why they won't be showing it all, and perhaps what would have to happen for that to change.

For now, you'll have to just settle for some of their other more tantalizing (but clothed) roles, which we also cover below.

15. Megan Fox

When Megan Fox became known in Hollywood, it was through Michael Bay super over-sexualizing her in the mega-blockbuster Transformers. But while she got dirty and rocked out in short shorts, there was definitely no chance of seeing anymore as the movie was rated PG. Since her role in that franchise, Fox has had plenty of roles that have dialed up the steam factor including Jennifer's Body in which she almost bares it all (but covers her chest with her hair) and also gets intimate with Amanda Seyfried.

There are also movies like How To Lose Friends & Alienate People, in which Fox shows off her body in lingerie, proving that she definitely would not be losing many friends.

But if you think you're going to be getting a peek at the goods, think again. Fox has gone on record saying, "I can't ever imagine myself doing nudity in a film. It lives forever, especially now, with the Internet. I just can't. I just can't. That's the only thing I have left. Everything you say gets judged, everything you do gets judged. Literally, all I have left are my private parts and I don't want to also share them with the world. I'd like to keep them private. That's why they're called that!"

Fox has every right to want to defend her privacy after photos of her on-set topless with pasties (for Jennifer's Body) were leaked online.

14. Anna Kendrick

Anna Kendrick may show off her party girl side in one of her latest movies Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, but just because her character shows off her rear end, don't think for a second that it was actually Kendrick on screen! The actress has been outspoken in the past about her thoughts on doing such a scene, saying "Emphatically, no, I will not do that. I have been lucky because I have not been pigeonholed into the teenage movie category. I am not criticizing people who do [nude scenes] but I plan to keep doing what I am doing and hope it keeps going good."

As for the experience of having a butt double, Kendrick said, "When you choose a butt double they're like, 'Is there anything you want?' As though they were going to scour the nation for the perfect ass you described and then they showed me three pictures and were like, 'This is the only one that could be you. This is the only one that isn't seven feet tall.'"

13. Kristen Bell

When it comes to Kristen Bell, there perhaps was no better opportunity to bare it all than in the series House Of Lies in which she appeared in 58 episodes alongside Don Cheadle. Bell's character has various scenes in which she engages in some pretty vigorous lovemaking, including some self-love, but her classy nightie/lingerie always managed to not make its way to the bedroom floor.

As for the reason why, don't blame Bell, blame her husband Dax Shepard! When talking back in 2012, Bell said, "Dax has purchased this real estate, so this is really a battle between Dax and Showtime, or Dax and Don (Cheadle)."

Think Dax would have been convinced if Cheadle lent him his War Machine outfit? While it is possible that Bell will bare it all in the near future, when you consider her future projects are centered around Frozen and her NBC television series The Good Place, you can imagine it will probably be quite some time (if ever) before you see all of Bell.

12. Julia Roberts

Julia Roberts is one of the many actresses on our list who had the opportunity to bare it all in a scene but was able to convince the director otherwise. There was allegedly an incredibly raunchy scene in the 2009 movie Duplicity that starred Clive Owen and Roberts, but it was toned down significantly.

There was also allegedly a body double used for the brief amount of skin shot in Pretty Woman. When asked about her mindset on exposing herself on screen, Roberts said "‘I wouldn’t do [it] in a film. To act with my clothes on is a performance. To act with my clothes off is a documentary."

These feelings were re-affirmed in 2009, when Roberts responded to a question about potential upcoming bare scenes saying, "'You know it’s not really what I do, so if you are going ask me to do it, you have to expect it to be toned down. You know, as a mum of three, I feel like that."

11. Jennifer Love Hewitt

If you wanted to see a television show in which Jennifer Love Hewitt dresses up in sexy outfits (nurse, corset, lingerie, etc.) and administered a dirty massage, you're in luck because that is exactly what happens in The Client List.

But while the situations and outfits may be hot, don't think that things are going to get so steamy that Hewitt finds herself taking off her clothes in front of the camera.

When talking about her role, as well as the potential of baring it all, Hewitt said, "I wouldn't have done [it]. I also think that it's sexier not to show everything. I feel like imaginations can do way more. So no, it probably would have been a different consideration for me."

The series was canceled after 2 seasons, allegedly after Hewitt got pregnant in real life with her co-star (and real-life) husband Brian Hallisay. Hewitt wanted the pregnancy to be worked into the show, with Hallisay's character also being the father, but the studio disagreed and wanted another character to father her on-screen baby. The show was canceled after they were unable to come to a resolution.

10. Jennifer Beals

Jennifer Beals definitely had to be prepared to lock lips with several different women when she got cast as one of the leads in The L Word. But just because scenes often get quite hot and heavy and clothes start flying, don't expect things to go all the way for Beals; even if that wasn't the case for all the actresses on the show.

When talking about her decision regarding exposing herself, Beals admitted that she has never "disrobed" on screen, saying "No. You can intimate nudity without actually being nude. That's what I've done, anyway."

The interview was in 2008, but perhaps Beals has a poor memory as she does in fact bare it all in the 1998 movie The Prophecy 2 which also stars Christopher Walken. Though as you are going learn as you keep reading, just because there is some exposure on the screen, doesn't mean that there wasn't a body double in play!

9. Isla Fisher

There are not many actors out there that have shown off more skin (without showing it all) than Isla Fisher's husband, Sacha Baron Cohen who infamously has rocked out as Borat, as well as Bruno on the big screen. Sadly it would take a lot more than the sight of Fisher in a mankini to forget that mental image!

Fisher has had a career that was perhaps best marked by her role in the comedy Wedding Crashers. Her character may not shy away from some bedroom scenes, but Fisher has admitted to using a body double when necessary.

When talking about her refusal to bear it all on screen, Fisher said, "I feel like if you have a female comic character and then you see her nipples, then she is no longer funny, which is clearly wrong, but that was my theory, and that's why I didn't want to do it."

At least it sounds like she may have changed her mind towards showing too much of herself, even if the right role hasn't come along quite yet. Fisher also shows off her body as seen in the above photo, in Wedding Daze.

8. Jennifer Garner

When Jennifer Garner was still married to Ben Affleck, he had the joy of going into work one day for Gone Girl and elected to bare it all as he emerged from the shower. But you definitely can't be expecting that treatment from Garner anytime soon. When talking to MTV News, Garner said "I will not be taking it all off! No, thank you. The world deserves better. Not interested.”

Garner also opened up to Ellen DeGeneres saying that this was the first time that Affleck was completely bare on screen, with one very distinct exception saying, "Outside of our very racy home film? Yes."

You can imagine Ben Affleck must have gone through some effort to make sure that home movie never emerged from his Batcave. Garner does, however turn up the heat in a corset in the 2011 film Arthur.

7. Allison Williams (and Rita Wilson) - Girls

Allison Williams is the daughter of NBC anchorman Brian Williams, but you can imagine he must be pretty relieved that he wouldn't have to announce that his little girl is taking it off on screen anytime soon.

This is despite the fact that Williams is one of the stars on the show Girls which is loose with clothing for a large portion of the cast. When Williams was asked about her character back in 2012, she admitted that she was not planning on taking it all off anytime soon in the show, and hinted that it was also in her contract.

Rita Wilson who also appears in the show has also come out and said, "I [wanted] it put in my contract … [They] don’t want to see me nude. That’s all I have to say. I’m like, ‘Don’t write in any nudity, please!”

Looks like these girls aren't showing off their "girls" on Girls anytime soon!

6. Mila Kunis

Mila Kunis definitely had a fantastic opportunity to bare it all for the big screen in her 2011 movie Friends With Benefits. The movie featured plenty of scenes in which she was getting down and dirty with Justin Timberlake, but Kunis was adamant that she was not planning on showing full frontal anytime soon.

When talking about how raunchy she got for the role, Kunis said, "I showed side boob. I don't need to show ass. You get one or the other. You don't get both."

Kunis does appear to bare it all in the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall in a polaroid photo of her flashing the camera, but she said during an interview with ReelzChannel that they hired another girl to pose for the shot and then superimposed Kunis's face onto her body.

You can imagine she was pretty happy for that bit of movie magic!

5. Jenna Fischer

If we are going to be completely fair, Pam Beesly was probably not going to be stripping down in The Office, but you definitely would not be alone if you had aspirations of Fischer showing off her wilder side in the near future.

Sadly for you, back in 2008 Fisher opened up to Playboy about an experience meeting with a playwright who asked her about removing her clothes as an actress. Fischer responded that she would not do anything her parents would not be proud of, and that included on-screen exposure, which led to the playwright ripping into her for allegedly not being a "real actress."

To help defend Fischer, the playwright opened the question with "I'm writing a film, and I think you'd be great for it. But I have a question for you – would you ever do a raunchy sex scene in a movie? Like really raunchy, with nudity?"

Fisher's most revealing on-screen moment came in the comedy Blades of Glory in which she wears a black corset to try and seduce Will Ferrell's character.

Who wouldn't say yes to that?!

4. Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba definitely has no shortage of reasons to be incredibly confident in her looks. She has constantly been considered one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood and despite a slew of racy roles under her belt, Alba has remained firm in her refusal to bare it all.

Fans' best chance definitely came when she took to the pole in the Sin City series, but they had to settle for her showing off her body without taking it all off.

When talking about her stance on full exposure, Alba said, "I don’t want my grandparents to see my boobs. That’s it. It would be weird at Christmas, and, I mean, really, if you look at the movies I have done, getting naked would never ‘elevate’ the picture."

It also must not help that Alba has two young children (both girls, both under the age of 8) and has been focused on her other ventures like starting "The Honest Company" which is centered on safe, effective and healthy products for families.

3. Rachel Bilson

Rachel Bilson made a name for herself playing the 16-year-old Summer Roberts on The O.C., so you better believe there were no opportunities for her there to bare it all. But now that Bilson has evolved past that role, she has been given several opportunities to bare it all, and as you can guess by her spot on this list, she sent them packing. Bilson also nearly did not appear in The Last Kiss, which was her first movie (so understandably a huge deal) because it originally called for her to appear in the buff.

When talking about the experience to Playboy back in 2008, Bilson said “Movies can be sexy or sexual without showing things. It’s almost a deal breaker. [The Last Kiss] was rated R, and they like to put in nudity wherever they can, but I’m pretty strong willed and believe it can be avoided.”

2. Sarah Jessica Parker

When you make a name for yourself by starring in a show called Sex and the City, you can understand why the general public would think that you must have stripped it all off on at least one occasion. Yet for Carrie Bradshaw she has always been able to keep herself fully clothed, a trend she plans on continuing, even if the perfect body double showed up.

"I'm a modest person. I'm not really proud of how I look. And you couldn't pay me enough to have someone pretend they were me doing a nude scene. No body doubles - that's part of my contract," she said back in 2008.

Parker's sauciest moment may have come in the movie State and Main in which she takes off her top, but leaves her back exposed to the camera. Things also get hot and heavy in Striking Distance, but Parker keeps her lingerie firmly intact during a makeout scene.

1. Blake Lively

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds might very well be the best-looking couple in Hollywood. But while you get to see Reynolds pound away during an intimate montage in Deadpool don't expect his wife to be getting a similar treatment anytime soon.

When talking about how she feels before filming some of her raunchier scenes (none of which have shown all her skin), Lively said "I do panic before I have to wear a really skimpy outfit, but I don’t have enough willpower. I had to do a scene in a bra and shorts for the first time in two years.”

Perhaps she will gain some confidence from her husband! In a funny story, Lively explained how her younger daughter James reacted to Reynolds' sex scenes, "And then my daughter goes, Dada!’ and she starts hugging and kissing the screen and waving at him, and he’s not waving back and she doesn’t understand why he’s not waving back. She thinks it’s like FaceTime. And it’s because Daddy’s getting it.”

Lively definitely pushes the boundaries in the movie The Private Lives Of Pippa Lee where she is completely bare, but covered by a man and in Savages in which she engages in some physical activity with a man.
